Emily Xu is CERGU's Newest PhD!

Xiangxuan (Emily) Xu successfully defended her dissertation entitled The Internet of Things: Projects-Places-Policies, on October 25th. Emily has been a CERGU doctoral student, enrolled in postgraduate studies in Economic Geography, located at the School of Business, Economics and Law in Gothenburg (Business Administration). Her PhD project has focused on the economy of digital geography, with a particular focus on the Internet of Things (IoT) and the interaction of context and IoT, both the physical location (urban areas) and policies (especially the EU's digital agenda policy).
Emily's supervisor has been Patrik Ström, professor of economic geography, director of the Department of Business Administration and member of CERGU's steering committee, and Claes-Göran Alvstam, professor of economic geography, former chairman of CERGU's steering committee and now chair of the CERGU International Advisory Board.
