In April 2017, Sune Bechmann Pedersen, together with his colleague Christian Noack (University of Amsterdam), organized a conference entitled Crossing the Iron Curtain. Tourism and Travelling in the Cold War, which took place in Amsterdam. Recently, the conference report was published with details of the presentations that took place. The photo shows Angela Romano (EUI) who was the keynote speaker. Romano's presentation focused on the porousness of the Iron Curtain in the VOC zaal from which the board of the Dutch East India Company used to rule the world.
